About the Word to PDF

Turn a Word document into a PDF that looks the same on every device. The converter lays out your .docx page by page, just like Word, with page size and margins, headers and footers, styles, tables, lists and images, then saves each page into a PDF. Your files are processed in your browser and never uploaded to a server.

  1. Choose or drop a .docx file.
  2. Check the page-by-page preview.
  3. Press Download PDF (High quality is on by default).

Why convert Word to PDF?

A PDF looks the same on every phone, computer and printer, while a Word file can reflow when fonts or software versions differ. That's why job portals, government sites and clients usually ask for PDFs.

Fonts and layout

Page size, margins, headers, footers, tables, lists and images are kept. Word's standard fonts are matched with metric-compatible fonts, so lines and pages break in the same places as in Word.

Questions

Frequently asked

Will the PDF look like my Word document?

Yes. Pages, margins, headers and footers, fonts, tables and images are kept. Word's standard fonts (Calibri, Cambria) are replaced with metric-identical free fonts when they aren't installed, so lines and pages break in the same places.

Can I select text in the PDF?

Pages are saved as high-resolution images, so the PDF looks exactly right everywhere but text can't be selected or searched. If you need selectable text, use Word's own Save as PDF.

Does it support .doc files?

It works with modern .docx files. For an old .doc file, open it in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.

Can I convert Google Docs to PDF here?

Yes. In Google Docs choose File → Download → Microsoft Word (.docx), then drop that file here.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and there's no server behind it, so your files never leave your device and nothing is stored. The first time, your browser downloads fonts, then everything runs on your device. You can check: it keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
