About the Online Stopwatch & Timer
A clean, accurate stopwatch and timer that runs in any browser. The stopwatch records laps and splits, and the timer plays an alarm when time is up. Both use the system clock, so they stay accurate even if the tab is in the background.
- Choose Stopwatch or Timer.
- Stopwatch: press Start, use Lap to record splits and Reset to clear. The space bar also starts and stops it.
- Timer: set hours, minutes and seconds or pick a preset, then press Start.

Is the stopwatch accurate?
Yes. It measures elapsed time from the high-resolution system clock instead of counting ticks, so it doesn't drift.
Will the timer ring if I switch tabs?
Yes, the alarm plays when the time is up as long as the tab is open. Keep your volume on.
Are my laps saved?
Laps stay on the page until you reset. You can copy them as text.
Is what I type sent to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and there's no server behind it, so what you type never leaves your device and nothing is stored. You can check: it keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
