Frequently asked
Which browsers support speech to text?
Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Safari support the Web Speech API. Firefox does not support it yet.
Is my voice recorded?
The audio is not stored by this site. Note that browsers such as Chrome send audio to their own speech service to transcribe it.
How can I improve accuracy?
Use a good microphone, speak at a steady pace and reduce background noise.
Is what I type sent to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and there's no server behind it, so what you type never leaves your device and nothing is stored. You can check: it keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
