About the Pitch & Speed Changer

Move a song into your singing key, slow a tricky solo down to practise it, or speed up a lecture, all without the chipmunk effect. Pitch moves in semitones (up or down an octave) with fine tuning in cents, and speed goes from half to double, each without affecting the other. Listen as you adjust, then download the result as MP3 or WAV. Everything is processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

  1. Choose a song or recording.
  2. Move Pitch up or down in semitones, and Speed slower or faster.
  3. Press Play to listen, then download as MP3 or WAV.
Questions

Frequently asked

How many semitones should I change for my voice?

Each semitone is one piano key. If a song is too high, try −2 or −3; if it's too low, +2 or +3. Twelve semitones is a full octave.

Will changing the speed change the pitch?

No. Speed and pitch are separate here: a song slowed to 75% stays in the same key. For the classic slowed sound where both drop together, use our Slowed + Reverb Maker.

Does it lower the quality?

Small changes sound natural. Very large changes (an octave, or half speed) can sound a little phasey, as with any pitch shifter.

Is my file uploaded?
