Estimate for a resident employee under the new tax regime, with the ₹75,000 standard deduction, the 87A rebate (no tax up to ₹12 lakh taxable income), surcharge and 4% cess. HRA is shown as 50% of basic, the usual split in metro cities; it doesn't change tax under the new regime. Real payslips vary with your company's salary structure. Not tax advice.

About the Salary Calculator (CTC to In-Hand)

Got an offer of 12 LPA and wondering what actually reaches your bank account each month? Enter your CTC and this calculator splits it the way most Indian payslips do (basic pay, HRA and special allowance), takes out your PF, professional tax and income tax under the new regime, and shows your in-hand salary per month and per year. It also shows the parts of your CTC you don't get monthly, such as the employer's PF contribution, gratuity and variable pay.

  1. Enter your annual CTC from the offer letter.
  2. Set basic pay as a share of CTC (50% is common after the new wage code) and any variable pay or bonus included in the CTC.
  3. Choose how PF is calculated and whether gratuity is part of the CTC, as your offer letter states.
  4. Read your monthly in-hand salary and the component-by-component breakdown.
Questions

Frequently asked

What is the in-hand salary for 12 LPA?

With basic at 50% of CTC, PF at 12% of basic, gratuity in the CTC and ₹2,400 professional tax, a ₹12 lakh CTC works out to about ₹85,400 a month in hand under the new regime, because the 87A rebate leaves no income tax on taxable income up to ₹12 lakh. Change the inputs to match your offer letter.

Why is my in-hand salary lower than CTC ÷ 12?

CTC includes money you don't receive monthly: the employer's PF contribution (it goes to your PF account), gratuity (paid after 5 years) and variable pay (paid as a bonus). Your own PF contribution, professional tax and income tax are also deducted from the monthly pay.

How is PF calculated?

Both you and your employer contribute 12% of basic pay. Some employers cap it at 12% of ₹15,000 (₹1,800 a month) as the law allows. Your offer letter or HR can tell you which applies.

Which tax regime does this use?

The new regime, the default since FY 2023-24, with the slabs, ₹75,000 standard deduction and ₹12 lakh rebate limit of FY 2025-26, which also apply in FY 2026-27. Professional tax and HRA exemptions aren't deductible under the new regime.

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and there's no server behind it, so what you type never leaves your device and nothing is stored. You can check: it keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
