About Drop D Tuner
Drop D lowers only the thickest string, from E down to D, an octave below the open 4th string. It gives a heavier sound and lets you play power chords with one finger, which is why it's everywhere in rock, metal and grunge. This page opens the tuner already set to Drop D: tune the low string down until the tuner shows D in tune; the other five strings stay in standard tuning.
- Press Start tuner and allow the microphone.
- Loosen the 6th (thickest) string slowly while plucking it until the tuner shows D2 in tune.
- Check the other strings, which should still be A D G B E.

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and there's no server behind it, so what you type never leaves your device and nothing is stored. You can check: it keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
