Questions

Frequently asked

What are the ukulele string notes?

Standard tuning from the top string (nearest your face) to the bottom is G4 C4 E4 A4. The G is higher than the C, which gives the ukulele its bright, re-entrant sound. A popular way to remember it is My Dog Has Fleas.

Why does my ukulele go out of tune so quickly?

New nylon strings stretch for the first week or two. Retune often and gently pull each string away from the fretboard to speed this up.

Does it work for a baritone ukulele?

Yes. Choose Baritone ukulele (D G B E) from the instrument menu, the same as the top four strings of a guitar.

Is what I type sent to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and there's no server behind it, so what you type never leaves your device and nothing is stored. You can check: it keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
